The Neurological Rehabilitation Registrar is responsible for the oversight of 10-15 patients of the Neurological Rehabilitation team which manages a diverse, young and often complex group of people with disability from a neurological cause. The registrar has the opportunity to work with specialised services including the Young adults with Complex Disabilities Service (YACD), Polio service and Spasticity Clinic. There are close links with the St George’s Rehabilitation Unit, Rehab@home program, Ambulatory Rehabilitation programs, and Aged Care programs operating at St Vincent’s. Responsibilities include Supervision of Interns Assessment of patients referred for rehabilitation as directed by the Rehabilitation Consultant Management of rehabilitation inpatients including Stroke, ABI and general neurological patients Attendance at ward daily management meetings, bi-weekly Consultant ward rounds, weekly conference and family meetings, Participation in in-service training programs for the rehabilitation team Participation in undergraduate medical teaching Involvement in research and quality programs being undertaken by the rehabilitation service Participation in Saturday and Sunday morning Rehab and GEM ward cover (approx. 1 in 6).
